Master Class
One of the most important parts of Thomas Quasthoff’s work are his much sought-after “Master Courses”. They are designed for singers who are in the advanced stages of their studies.
Thomas Quasthoff’s master courses are more demanding, run over several days, but are key to how Thomas is able both to inspire and train the great voices of the future.
Thomas Quasthoff trains his students on stage, working with enormous precision and intensity on the technical and interpretational challenges of classical singing.
The master courses are generally open to the public – it is advisable to apply well in advance, as there is a huge demand from both potential participants and audience members.

Melodramma in three acts
Rigoletto is an opera in 3 acts by Verdi. The Italian libretto was written by Francesco Maria Piave based on the play Le roi s'amuse by Victor Hugo. It is considered by many to be the first of the operatic masterpieces of Verdi's middle-to-late career.
Verdi was commissioned to write a new opera by the La Fenice opera house in Venice in 1850, at a time when he was already a well-known composer with a degree of freedom in choosing the works he would prefer to set to music.
In Rigoletto the epidemic that erodes the palaces also eats away at hearts and bodies. But the Machiavellian jester conceals a fatal flaw in the depths of his soul: a father's love.
